Derek Fuzzell serves as the chief financial and strategy officer of PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union in Washington, D.C., which provides financial services to the global health community, Georgetown University, and the MedStar Healthcare System. In his role, he oversees Finance, Accounting, Mortgage Lending, Human Resources, Business Development, Strategic Planning, and Wealth Management Services. Fuzzell also serves on the Board of Directors for Vizo Financial Corporate Credit Union and the D.C. Chapter of the Maryland/D.C. Credit Union Association.

As a member of the IMA Global Board, Fuzzell serves as Chair of the Volunteer Leadership Committee and the Governance Committee. He previously served on the Performance Oversight and Audit, Strategic Planning, and Nominating Committees. Fuzzell served as chair of the Investment Subcommittee for 2018-2019, chair of the Conference Program Committee for 2017-2018, and chair of the DE&I Committee from 2019-2021. Fuzzell has served as a Chapter and Council Leader for the Nation’s Capital Chapter and the Potomac and Chesapeake Council. He was the 2020 recipient of IMA’s Exemplary Global Board Member Award and the 2018 recipient of IMA’s Exemplary Young Professional Award.

Fuzzell earned his MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Houston. He is a CMA, CSCA, and a CPA licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
